Our tourist residence is at the heart of exceptional sites not to be missed in Corse-du-Sud.
The City
This tourist residence in Corse-du-Sud is like the Island of Beauty, Corsica, land of sublime contrasts. Here in Bonifacio, magnificent cliffs plunge into the sea and serve as a backdrop and promontory for the impregnable citadel and unique, marvellous marina, an essential stopover for the most beautiful yachts on the planet.
As you’ll understand, there’s the old town perched on high and the port at its feet. Bonifacio, the city of cliffs, is majestic and attractive with the thousand and one possibilities for visits it offers. A heritage that sums up the history of Corsica. It’s here in Bonifacio that lived the oldest resident of Corsica identified to date: the old Lady of Bonifacio, who is a little over 9000 years old! And at least since that time, the pages of history have been turned here in Bonifacio with its many visitors, including some regular celebrities past and present from the world of culture and the arts, sport, etc.
Bonifacio
The backdrop is set for you to venture into picturesque alleys, admire remarkable buildings including the Sainte Marie Majeure church, which also shows the different periods of history, much like all the other churches and chapels in town and at the port. No less than seven brotherhoods run them and bring them to life today. You can walk the famous Escalier du Roy d'Aragon, on the side of the cliff just above the sea, dizzying in its beauty! Needless to say, you’ll have plenty of choice faced with the many shops, from those selling local agri-food, crafts or luxury clothing to simple souvenirs and postcards... And plenty of restaurants, bars and ice cream parlours, from high gastronomy, local or otherwise, to the simple sandwich, in the upper town as well as the port. Don’t forget that to get to Bonifacio during your stay, there’s a footpath, formerly taken on the back of a donkey, which leads in barely 15 minutes to the marina from your tourist residence, Terra Marina in Corse-du-Sud.
The beaches
Barely 5 minutes by car from your Terra Marina tourist residence in Southern Corsica, Paragan Beach is exemplary in terms of the environment and well sheltered like many of the coves in this Mediterranean part of Bonifacio, at least as far as La Tonnara Beach, where the sand has turned from white to golden. On the Tyrrhenian side, there’s the Rondinara which offers no less than two coves! Rondinara is regularly placed in the "Top Ten" of the most beautiful beaches in Europe, here in Bonifacio! There are also the beaches of Sant'Amanza, Balistra, Cala Longa. …We can’t mention them all here … or that of Petit Sperone, accessible from Piantarella, a real blue diamond between the cliffs, under a Roman villa, backed by an extremely fine white sand dune where lilies grow! It's up to you to discover even more, during your holidays, which you can mention at the reception of your Residence in Corsica in Bonifacio, Terra Marina. Shh, it's a secret! And maybe in return for your interest, they’ll reveal other beautiful secrets of dream beaches. It's very simple, between Porto-Vecchio (and its famous peninsula of Palombaggia) and Roccapina / Pianottoli-Caldarello / Monacia, there are only beaches, bays, creeks and coves over more than 100 km between two seas with, in the middle, your tourist residence in Southern Corsica, Terra Marina, as the ideal practical epicentre, simply beautiful, truly beautiful. The luxury of crystal-clear waters is essential for the beaches of Southern Corsica, in Bonifacio more particularly, including under the city’s cliffs.
